Registration still available for 多多直播 Student Success Convening

Space is still available to join colleagues from around the state at the second annual 多多直播 Student Success Convening on Monday, March 30, 2020 at Fine Arts auditorium (ARTS 150) on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus. 

This is the second year that 多多直播 is sponsoring a Student Success Convening. During the event, you will hear from leading experts on best practices in student success and from fellow colleagues about what they are doing to increase student success at their campuses.

鈥淎s a university community, we share the critical mission of ensuring our students鈥 success,鈥 said Saichi T. Oba, associate vice president for student and enrollment services. 鈥淣o matter your role at the University of Alaska, what you learn at the Student Success Convening will give you the tools to better help our students succeed with their post-secondary education goals.鈥

Building off of last year's inaugural program, this year's Convening is focused on the themes of closing equity gaps and faculty engagement in student success. Keynote addresses will be presented by Dr. William Davis, associate dean in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University and Khadish O. Franklin, director of Strategic Research and Research Advisory Services at EAB in Washington, D.C. 

There are also several lunch-and-learn sessions led by university experts covering a wide variety of topics. 多多直播A and 多多直播F TRiO representatives will share their secrets for addressing the needs of first-generation and low-income students. 多多直播A鈥檚 Institute of Social and Economic Research's (ISER) will present recent research addressing education equity gaps in Alaska鈥檚 K-12 system that affect students鈥 college and career readiness. Other topics include active learning techniques, practical techniques for academic coaching, peer-learning assistants in large and high-risk classes, and how to incorporate public domain and open access learning and research materials in curriculum. 

There is no cost to attend and travel stipends for faculty are available. Registration is free and more information can be found .
